37 & 38 weeks!

(Sorry I didn't post last week)

I had my 37 week doctor's appointment last Friday and my cervix was still closed. So no progress thus far. *insert pouty face here* I am so ready to be done! I am a whole new level of uncomfortable lately. Hurts to walk, roll over in bed, stand, sit, etc. He is majorly pushing down and has dropped and I have a doctor's appointment tomorrow to see if I'm making any progress. Braxton Hicks have pretty much stopped but he shifts around so much in there that it's painful! :( I am trying to enjoy every last minute of this pregnancy because I KNOW I will miss feeling him inside there! It's something only I get to feel as his mama. And once he arrives I'll have to share him with EVERYONE! Fortunately, I can use "he's hungry" as an excuse to take him back from greedy baby holders because I'll be exclusively breastfeeding so only his mama can feed him. :) I just can't wait to meet him! I know there's 2 weeks until my official due date but I hope he comes soon! I definitely want him here for Thanksgiving and this weekend seems like the perfect time for him to make his arrival (based on my husband's school/work schedule)... but I guess it's up to him! (and God) :)

We also added some bookshelves in the nursery this past weekend so it's officially DONE!
My hospital bag is packed and everything is ready... all that's missing is a baby!

36 weeks!

I can't believe it's only one week until I'm full term! Officially less than one month until his due date! 

I learned this week that the average date of delivery for first time moms is 41 weeks 1 day. For me, that's November 28th... I really would love him here before Thanksgiving but I'm thinking that won't happen. I don't feel 36 weeks pregnant and I definitely don't think I look 36 weeks! But my mom says she didn't show very much in her two pregnancies... so maybe I have a really big baby in there but just don't know it! I guess we'll find out soon enough! 

Here's my belly this week:

Total weight gain: 21 lbs (as of 10-10-12, my 34 week appointment. At my 32 week appointment, I was up 22 lbs but lost one lb. by 34 weeks... weird!)

Maternity clothes? of course

Sleep: up a lot to pee, or up if he kicks really hard!

Best moment this week: feeling more than just kicks - watching him move across my entire belly!

Miss Anything? being able to bend over & being able to breathe! 

Movement: lots of shifting/rearranging... I can feel his feet stuck in my ribs and sometimes feel his toes (I think)

Food cravings: MILK. ALL THE TIME. Also sweets.

Anything making you queasy or sick: bananas... that's about it
Gender: boy

Labor Signs: occasional contractions.

Symptoms: heartburn, back pain, not able to breathe, just uncomfortable. but worth it!
Belly Button in or out? still in!
Wedding rings on or off? on

Happy or Moody most of the time: Happy!

Looking forward to: being full term!

35 weeks!

I can't believe there's only 5 weeks until my due date! We can't wait to meet our little man. He weighs just over 5 pounds (about the weight of a honeydew melon or coconut) and has 15% body fat. By the time he's born it will go up to 30%! I feel him punching and kicking all day... I can imagine he's running out of "womb". ;) 

The nursery is almost completely done. We just have to hang 2 bookshelves and we're finished! I see my OB in a week and then I see her every week after that until he's born. I hope he's still head down and just about ready to come out! Here's my growing bump:

34 weeks!

So close!! He could be here in 3 weeks... I'm so excited! 

I had my baby shower on Saturday and got everything we needed!

It's green (so sick of baby blue!) and gray and super cute! It's exactly what I wanted. We got a boppy (hooray!) and tons of diapers, too. Plus all the little things you need. So now all we do is wait for him to arrive!

We went to the doctor today and he is still doing great - head down with a heart rate in the 130s. He's still being a "squirmy wormy" and I love feeling him kick every day. I know I'll miss him being in my belly once he's here but I WON'T miss the heartburn and back pain! Aaaaannoying. But so worth it. :)

Plus I lost a pound and a half since 2 weeks ago...? Uh... I'll take it! My doctor isn't concerned and says weight loss is normal towards the end. So now I'm up 21 pounds since being 5 weeks pregnant.

33 weeks!

Less than 2 months until Munchkin is here... I'm freaking out! He could be here in 4 weeks! (Although I think he will come late). 

Here's my bump this week!

I've been having contractions but of course they are just Braxton Hicks. My heartburn has been a killer this week and Munchkin is moving NONSTOP. Seriously, any time I sit down, he starts kickboxing. It's not just kicks and punches though, he's rolling and swimming and jumping! I took some awesome videos of my belly this week to document his crazy movement. It's also almost always on the right side... my doctor said that your womb is like a home and you have that one room you like... and Munchkin likes my right side! I'm glad he feels at home in there... but he needs to come out eventually!

My baby shower is on Saturday... I can't wait to see everyone and I'm super excited to get all the things we need to finalize his nursery! 

My mom got to go to my OB appointment with my husband and I last week Friday and she got to hear Munchkin's heart beat... and she cried. :) His heart rate was 136 - same as last time - and my belly is measuring 31 cm at 32 weeks which is good! It makes me think he is a little small... but my husband and I were big babies so we'll see! My doctor and I discussed my birth plan and after going to breastfeeding and childbirth classes at the hospital, I feel much more comfortable thinking about delivering! A lot of things that are in my birth plan are things that St. Mary's does anyways... like the baby rooming in with you, kangaroo care, etc. So although I'm nervous about delivery because I worry about everything and think something will go wrong, I feel a lot better knowing my doctor and I are on the same page!

She also said that she is not on call on Thanksgiving (2 days after my due date) and she will possibly be out of town that weekend... meaning he needs to be born the 21st or sooner or he needs to wait until the 27th! I'd love him to be here for Thanksgiving but I want him to wait until he's ready to come out! I just really trust my doctor and know her personally outside of the office so I would feel much better having her deliver him.

32 weeks!

8 weeks left... only 5 weeks until I'm full term! It's getting so close but still SO far away.
I've been having terrible heartburn and acid reflux and I've had a few Braxton Hicks contractions. The most annoying thing is my back pain and when Munchkin's foot gets stuck in my ribs. Ouch! Oh, and Charley horses majorly suck as well. But I'm enjoying my last 2 months - can't wait to meet our little man!!

Update on my knee: I have a new brace for it which actually works, and as for my foot, it's sprained, and I have to keep it wrapped or walking on it is unbearable. I bruised the bone. :( The doctor decided not to do x-rays on my knee but if I'm still having issues, I will get an x-ray after I give birth to determine if I need surgery. UM... I'm not having knee surgery with an exclusively breastfed newborn! No thanks! I'm just praying my knee gets better, but I feel like there's something floating around in there when I bend it, and I can't completely straighten it, which is no good. Plus my foot feels like it's getting worse. UGH. Just can't wait to have my body back to normal!
